The HeART of Protest at the Conservatory

October 4, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free
The Conservatory is excited to be joining the HeART of the Protest — a King Arts Complex effort to produce 46 cumulative days of artistic protest between June 19 (Juneteenth) and Nov. 3 (or beyond) to honor the 46 years of George Floyd’s life.
From 1-3pm. on Sunday, Oct. 4 the Conservatory will host musical and visual performances by dancer Candice Igeleke and musician K. Daniel. This event is on a Community Day, when general admission is waived for residents of Franklin County and the City of Columbus. Online reservations are still required to help with social distancing. (Scroll to Community Days to reserve your ticket: fpconservatory.org/select-a-ticket.)
The Conservatory is one of several arts and cultural organizations in Columbus participating in the HeART of Protest. Each event presents existing or new work that focuses on telling the story of black America, from slavery to present day.
“The arts have always been at the center, sometimes at the front, of social justice reform. In the true spirit of collaboration, the arts community has joined The King Arts Complex to show support for black lives matter and protest through the arts.” – Demetries J. Neely, Executive Director of the King Arts Complex.
