SUMMARY:Aminah Robinson Day: All Arts Day - A Day of Sharing
DESCRIPTION:Surround yourself in inspiration and storytelling with themed projects inspired by the work of Aminah Robinson. Kick-start your imaginations with prompts designed for a wide range of ages\, abilities and materials. These workshops are free and supplies are provided. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \nAn innovative multimedia artist\, teacher\, storyteller\, and MacArthur Fellow\, Aminah Robinson was known for her work within the African-American community of Poindexter Village on Columbus’ Near East Side. As home to one of Aminah’s earliest studios\, The King Arts Complex proudly displays her work year round to inspire emerging artists\, current artists\, and our community. \nWe invite the community to join us for a Celebration of Aminah from 3 PM – 4 PM and the opening reception for the “ONE LOVE… the community collects AMINAH” exhibition from 4 PM – 6 PM. The exhibition will be on view in the Elijah Pierce Gallery from February 17th – March 6th. \nThis year we will have multiple sessions and there are only 10 slots avaiable per hour with each of the featured artists. Each registered participant can have one registration for up to THREE sessions only. We ask that you only register for three sessions to provide space for other registrants. \n*The Monica Scott “Quilting – Own Town” is three hours and registrants will only be able to participate in this session.
