Summer Arts Camp is an 8-week, all day program. Summer Academy runs throughout the Columbus City Schools summer recess.

The children ARE our future. Too often they have been at the receiving end of witnessing atrocities and feeling helpless. Most of the children affected cannot vote, create their own social media profiles, or even afford a skating trip and pizza without pooling resources together from adults. They are not unlike the generation prior, wanting to make and be the change in the world and finding it to be quite an arduous task. Yet over the last few years, students have bravely stepped up to demand the promises given to them by their leaders.

Whether it’s students like Greta Thunberg and others championing climate change, or Emma González and the students of Parkland, FL speaking out about school shootings, our children have utilized our ever-changing and evolving social and technological platforms to reach the hearts of people around the world as well as in their own backyard.

The camp will run on a STEAM module (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). This year’s theme for Summer Camp is Activism and will include:

  • Dance
  • Theater
  • Music
  • Film
  • Animation
  • Visual Arts
  • Creative Writing
  • Digital Coding
